If you're here, you've probably been researching innkeeping for a while. Unfortunately, there is very little information available specific to innkeeping, what it entails, and how to be successful. What can be found is often dated and inappropriate or irrelevant to today's traveler or it's all about how to buy and finance a property...that they'd be happy to sell you!  There are even fewer resources that are hands-on and guided by experienced lodging professionals.

By drawing on our extensive knowledge and experience gained over 55+ combined years in the industry, the Aspiring Innkeeper Program at Aldrich Guest House will give a personalized foundation of information and operational experience for aspiring innkeepers and equip you with insider information, tips, best practices, and hands-on experience to decide if innkeeping is right for you, and if it is, will set you on the path to success.   

The Aspiring Innkeeper Program at Aldrich Guest House isn't going to tell you what to do.  We won't be telling you how to run your business, what to make for breakfast, how to decorate your property, or how to interact with guests.  We're also not trying to sell you property or make it sound like running a B&B is rocket science like lots of the currently available seminars do.

What we will do is teach you the tools you need to create your unique experience for your guests and let you experience first-hand what it's really like to be an innkeeper.  Our goal is to help you find the best way to run your property in your own way that works for you.  We will bring out the best in you so that you can give the best to your guests. 

By giving a peek behind the scenes, our aspiring innkeepers will leave with an understanding of what it means to run a bed and breakfast or small lodging property.  You will have experienced hands-on the excitement of welcoming guests and figuring out how best to take care of each of them.  You'll learn how back of house operations are run including breakfast planning/prep/serving, housekeeping, marketing, advertising, and reservation/property management among other things.
