Taste of Home Cooking School - September 25
An evening of excitement, bringing the latest recipes and techniques from nationally known Taste of Home to Galena for the first time. Culinary Specialist Guy Klingzing will set those taste buds drooling with flavorful recipes from appetizers to desserts. If seeing isn't enough, maybe you'll be the one to win the finished dish at the end of the evening. Meet our featured vendors, see the latest trends, and pick up something special for you or as a gift. Door prizes, raffles, free goody bags! Tickets start at only $15.
47th Annual Tour of Historic Homes - September 27 - 28
Guided tour of five historic homes including the 1858 Barrows mansion, now home to the Galena & U.S. Grant History Museum. Guides in period dress give the history and significance of the homes and the part they played in the settling of Galena.
Galena Cellars Fall Harvest and Art Festival - September 27-28
Purple feet and paint brushes are on tap for this fun-filled event. Have you always wanted to stomp grapes, now's the time to try it! Wander through the vineyard to see original works from gifted local artists, what a beautiful setting. Food, spa, live music and of course wine!
On the scariest night of the year, Halloween, you will check-in and receive your unique, copper mug (which is your admission ticket to all events). Then it's off to Blaum Brothers Distillery for a free tour beginning at 7:00 PM. (Cash bar). The rest of the night is yours to mingle with ghosts and goblins as you please.
Saturday from 2-5 PM, tour the best inns of Galena and receive your vile of ingredients, we're talking mummified toes here, for the Witches Brew being served that evening from 5 - 7 PM. Enjoy appetizers, and the Brew you helped create.
